When the darkness of her brother’s diagnosis hits her family hard, Evie feels helpless and invisible. Her parents focus solely on his life-threatening illness, and all of Evie’s dreams are abandoned in the fight for his life. As an eighth grader, this year was supposed to be epic, top of the school ladder, only to find herself suddenly pushed off into a maelstrom of fear and uncertainty.
Who can she turn to when the shadows attack?
The shadow demons fill her bedroom, their dark silhouettes hover above her bed. She’s trapped in their trance, unable to move or make a sound as they sneak closer and closer. Evil seems to emanate from them, and she can almost feel it trying to break inside her head and drive her mad with fear.
A sense of impending danger looms over Evie as her reality seems to unravel. Unless she confronts the dark shadows and finds a way to banish them from her life and her family, the creatures might overtake everyone she loves.
